15 Step
Radiohead · 2006The track was recorded during the In Rainbows sessions with Thom Yorke, Jonny Greenwood, Colin Greenwood, Ed O Brien and Philip Selway. The album was made at locations including Radiohead Oxfordshire studio, Tottenham House, Halswell House and the Hospital Club, with Nigel Godrich producing and a group of children from the Matrix Music School contributing handclaps and cheers. Released as the opening track of In Rainbows in 2007, it introduced the album with the rhythmic and electronic emphasis that framed Radiohead independent release experiment. Though not issued as a charting single, it became one of the album most recognizable tracks and was later used in the film Twilight. It remains a key In Rainbows track and a notable example of Radiohead blending irregular meter, electronic percussion and guitar textures into accessible songwriting. The song continues to be associated with the album landmark self released campaign and the band late 2000s live repertoire.
