Separator
Radiohead · 2011Recording
Radiohead recorded Separator during The King of Limbs sessions between 2009 and 2011 at the Home of Drew Barrymore in Los Angeles and the band's studio in Oxfordshire. The track was made by Thom Yorke, Jonny Greenwood, Colin Greenwood, Ed O'Brien and Philip Selway with longtime producer Nigel Godrich. Separator closed The King of Limbs, the album Radiohead self-released in February 2011 before its wider physical issue. Its placement and repeated closing lyric helped make it one of the album's most discussed songs among listeners. Separator remains a notable late-period Radiohead album track and was reworked by Four Tet for TKOL RMX 1234567. It has endured as one of the more melodic and open-ended pieces from The King of Limbs era.
