Morning Bell
Radiohead · 2000Recording
Recorded during the Kid A sessions in 1999 and 2000 at Radiohead’s Canned Applause studio in Oxfordshire. Nigel Godrich produced the track with Radiohead. It stood out as one of the key songs on Kid A, helping define the album’s fractured, anxious mood and the band’s break from their earlier guitar-centered sound. The song also became closely associated with the larger Kid A/Amnesiac recording cycle. The track remained important in Radiohead’s catalog because it was later reworked into an alternate version for Amnesiac, extending its life beyond the original album. It is still cited as one of the defining pieces of the band’s early-2000s experimental period.
