Everything In Its Right Place
Radiohead · 2000Recording
Recorded during the Kid A sessions in 1999 at Studio Guillaume Tell in Paris with the five members of Radiohead and producer Nigel Godrich. The track was built around Thom Yorke’s keyboard motif and the band’s heavily processed arrangement. As the opening track on Kid A, it announced Radiohead’s shift from guitar-driven rock toward electronic texture and studio experimentation. It was widely praised as a bold statement of direction for the album. It remains one of Radiohead’s signature songs and a landmark of early-2000s experimental rock. Its atmosphere, loop-based structure, and vocal processing have influenced later indie and electronic-leaning artists.
