Sweet Female Attitude · 2000Recording
It began as an R&B ballad produced by Cutfather & Joe and was later reworked by Ceri Evans, known as Sunship, into the garage version released in 2000. Sweet Female Attitude’s vocal performance was carried over from the earlier version, while the remix gave the track its club-facing identity. Released as Sweet Female Attitude’s debut single, it became a major UK garage crossover hit and reached number 2 on the UK Singles Chart. Its success helped push garage into the mainstream at the turn of the millennium. The track has remained one of the best-known UK garage records of its era and has been repeatedly covered, remixed, and sampled. Its melodic hook and garage rhythm have given it lasting cultural reach well beyond its original release.
