Why... (Matt Jam Lamont Mix)

The track is the Matt "Jam" Lamont and DJ Face remix of Mis-Teeq’s debut single "Why?", cut for the song’s 2001 UK reissue. It builds on David Brant’s original production and the group’s vocals, with the remixers recasting it as a garage club mix. The remix gave Mis-Teeq their breakthrough, helping the single cross from R&B into the UK garage mainstream. It became the version that radio and the charts embraced, and the song reached the UK top 10. This mix remains the defining version of "Why?" and is remembered as one of the records that helped push early-2000s UK garage into the pop mainstream. It also established Mis-Teeq’s crossover identity before their later hit singles.
