The track was built in a modest home-studio setup in South London, with City programming the beats on an Akai S3000 sampler and Nana/Nay Nay recording the vocals there. It was credited to Architechs, with the original release issued as the group’s featured collaboration with Nana. Released in 2000, it became Architechs’ breakthrough single and a UK garage crossover hit, peaking at No. 3 on the UK Singles Chart. It helped define the mainstream moment for garage at the turn of the millennium. The song remained a touchstone of the UK garage era and was later sampled by Dizzee Rascal on “Body Loose.” It continued to appear on garage compilations and in retrospective rankings of the genre’s key records.
