Recorded during the In Rainbows sessions between 2005 and 2007 after Radiohead had worked on earlier versions of the song for almost a decade. The final recording was produced by Nigel Godrich with Thom Yorke, Jonny Greenwood, Colin Greenwood, Ed O'Brien, and Philip Selway. Released by XL Recordings in 2008 as the second single from In Rainbows, Nude reached number 21 on the UK Singles Chart and number 37 on the Billboard Hot 100. Its chart performance was boosted by the band's release of remix stems, making it Radiohead's first US Top 40 single since Creep. Nude remains one of the central songs from In Rainbows and a prominent example of Radiohead turning long-developed live material into a restrained studio recording. Its stem-release campaign became an early high-profile example of remix participation affecting digital chart performance.
