You Need the Drugs

WestBam recorded “You Need The Drugs” for Götterstrasse, his 2013 album of collaborations with guest vocalists. The track features Richard Butler of the Psychedelic Furs, who wrote and performed the lyric, while WestBam and Klaus Jankuhn wrote, produced and mixed the music. Released in 2013 as the opening track and single from Götterstrasse, it helped frame the album’s concept of pairing WestBam’s electronic production with prominent guest voices. The song became one of the album’s most visible tracks and later drew renewed club attention through remixes by DJ Hell, &ME and Kobosil.
