Santigold · 2012Recording
The track was recorded in 2010 and 2011 during sessions for Santigold's second album, Master of My Make-Believe, with Santi White, Ricky Blaze and Nick Zinner among the credited personnel. Ricky Blaze produced and arranged the recording, with Rich Costey credited for mixing. Released as the lead single from Master of My Make-Believe, it introduced Santigold's second album after a four-year gap from her debut. The single reached number 96 on the UK Singles Chart and drew positive critical notice for its compact, anthemic production. It remains one of Santigold's best-known songs from her 2010s catalogue. The recording was later sampled by ODESZA, Chance the Rapper and Abstract, extending its presence beyond its original release cycle.
