Howling
Ry · —Ry Cuming recorded “Howling” with Frank Wiedemann of Âme during the collaboration that became the Howling project. Cuming supplied the vocal and acoustic-guitar core, while Wiedemann built the electronic production around it for the Innervisions release. Released by Innervisions in 2012 as Ry & Frank Wiedemann, it became an underground club hit after Dixon championed it in his Boiler Room set. The Âme remix broadened its dance-floor reach and helped turn the collaboration into the named project Howling. The track remains the defining recording of the Ry X and Frank Wiedemann partnership and the origin point for Howling’s later singles and albums. Its mix of fragile vocal songwriting and minimal electronic production made it one of Innervisions’ clearest crossover records.
