Blinking Pigs

Little Dragon recorded “Blinking Pigs” for Machine Dreams, the Gothenburg quartet’s second album. Yukimi Nagano, Erik Bodin, Fredrik Wallin and Håkan Wirenstrand wrote and produced the track, with the band’s studio approach centred on analogue synthesizers, live drums and Nagano’s lead vocal. Released by Peacefrog in 2009 as a single from Machine Dreams, it became one of the album’s most visible tracks. Its polished synth arrangement and video helped mark Little Dragon’s move from the intimate sound of their debut toward a brighter, more electronic second-album identity. The track remains one of Little Dragon’s best-known early singles and a defining Machine Dreams recording. It helped establish the band’s international profile before their later collaborations with Gorillaz, SBTRKT and other crossover electronic acts.
