Lights Out

Recorded during sessions for Santigold's debut album, Lights Out was written by Santi White, John Hill, and Chris Feinstein. White and Hill produced the recording, placing her vocals over a bright guitar-led arrangement distinct from the album's heavier beat-driven tracks. Released in 2008 through Downtown, Lizard King, and Atlantic, Lights Out became the third single from Santigold. It was one of the album's most immediate crossover songs and was named among Pitchfork's best tracks of 2008. Lights Out remains a key song from Santigold's breakthrough era and a fixture of the debut album's critical reputation. Its commercial placement in a Bud Light Lime campaign helped extend the track beyond indie and alternative radio audiences.
