Punch up at a Wedding
Radiohead · 2003The track was recorded during the Hail to the Thief sessions with Thom Yorke, Jonny Greenwood, Colin Greenwood, Ed O Brien and Philip Selway. Radiohead recorded the album largely at Ocean Way Recording in Los Angeles with Nigel Godrich producing. Released on Hail to the Thief in 2003, it formed part of the album political and social unease following the band Kid A and Amnesiac period. Though not issued as a charting single, it became a notable album track for its piano driven groove and caustic lyric. It remains a recognized Hail to the Thief deep cut and an example of Radiohead early 2000s blend of live-band performance and studio tension. The track continues to be discussed within the album as one of its more direct and rhythmically grounded songs.
