Thinking About You
Radiohead · 1992Radiohead re-recorded the song for Pablo Honey during the album sessions at Chipping Norton Recording Studios and Courtyard Studios in Oxfordshire in September to November 1992, working with Sean Slade and Paul Q. Kolderie. The song had already appeared in an earlier form on the 1992 Drill EP and traces back to the band’s Manic Hedgehog demo tape. As one of the reworked tracks on Radiohead’s debut album, it showed the band moving an early demo into a more polished studio setting. It also sat alongside the album that introduced Radiohead on Parlophone in the UK in early 1993. The song remained part of the band’s early recorded canon because it had been developed from a pre-album demo, then re-recorded for the debut and later revisited by fans as a contrast between Radiohead’s first loose, guitar-driven period and their later work. Its continued circulation on the album and the earlier Drill EP kept it present in the group’s catalog.
