A Tribe Called Quest · 1992
Recording

Recorded for The Low End Theory during 1990–1991 sessions in New York City, with production by A Tribe Called Quest and guest verses from Leaders of the New School members Busta Rhymes, Charlie Brown, and Dinco D. The album sessions were held at Battery Studios, Greene Street Studios, Soundtrack Studios, and DJ Jazzy Jay's Studio. Released in 1992 as the third single from The Low End Theory, it became one of the group’s signature posse cuts and reached No. 57 on the Billboard Hot 100. Its high-profile live performance with Leaders of the New School helped push the song into wider attention. The track remains one of A Tribe Called Quest’s most durable songs and is widely cited as a landmark posse cut, with Busta Rhymes’s appearance often treated as a breakthrough moment. It continues to circulate in hip-hop canon, performance culture, and sampling/cover discussion.
