Little Miss Lover
Jimi Hendrix · 1971The track was recorded for Axis: Bold as Love by the Jimi Hendrix Experience with Jimi Hendrix, Noel Redding and Mitch Mitchell. Sessions took place at Olympic Studios in London in 1967, with Chas Chandler producing and Eddie Kramer engineering. Released on Axis: Bold as Love in 1967, it showed Hendrix developing a tighter funk influenced rhythmic language within the Experience studio sound. Though not issued as a charting single, it became a notable album track for its clipped guitar attack and groove based arrangement. It remains a recognized Axis: Bold as Love deep cut and an early example of Hendrix rhythmic guitar style that later influenced funk rock players. The track has also been revisited through later covers and tributes to Hendrix late 1960s catalogue.
