Foxy Lady
Jimi Hendrix · 1969The track was recorded on December 13, 1966 at CBS Studios in London by the Jimi Hendrix Experience with Jimi Hendrix, Noel Redding and Mitch Mitchell. Chas Chandler produced the session, capturing the song feedback opening and heavy riff as part of the Are You Experienced recordings. Released on Are You Experienced in 1967 and later as a U.S. single under the title Foxey Lady, it became one of Hendrix best known early recordings. The single reached number 67 on the Billboard Hot 100, while the album track helped define the Experience debut sound. It remains one of Hendrix signature songs and a standard example of his feedback, sustain and riff based electric guitar language. The track has been widely covered and continues to appear on Hendrix compilations, live releases and guitar focused retrospectives.
