Cosmic Dancer

T. Rex · 1971
Recording

Recorded in London during the Electric Warrior sessions at Trident Studios with Marc Bolan and producer Tony Visconti, alongside the classic T. Rex lineup of Mickey Finn, Steve Currie, and Bill Legend. The track reflects the band’s polished early-1970s studio sound. It was one of the defining songs on Electric Warrior, the album that made T. Rex a central force in the glam rock era. Its intimate lyric and expansive production helped establish Bolan as one of the movement’s most distinctive stylists. The song has remained one of T. Rex’s best-known album tracks and a touchstone for Bolan’s romantic, otherworldly songwriting. It continues to be cited as a high point of glam rock and has been widely covered and admired by later artists.
