Keep On Moving
Bob Marley · 1971Recorded in Kingston in February 1971 for Lee “Scratch” Perry’s Upsetter sessions, with Bob Marley on lead vocal and the Wailers backed by Perry’s production team. Session notes place it at Randy’s Studio 17 on a four-track setup. It appeared on the Jamaican album Soul Revolution Part II and gave the Wailers a strong early reading of Curtis Mayfield’s “(I’ve Got to) Keep on Moving.” The recording sits among the most important documents of the Marley-Perry period and helped define the group’s spare early roots-reggae sound. The song remained part of Marley’s core early catalogue and was revived for later compilations and reissues. A 1995 UK single reissue brought it back onto the Official Singles Chart, extending its reach well beyond the original Jamaican release.
