Horace Andy · 1973
Recording

Horace Andy recorded the 1973 cover in Jamaica for producer Bunny Lee. It was cut as part of Andy’s mid-1970s run of Lee-produced singles built around established riddims. The track extended Andy’s profile beyond Studio One and placed his voice on a well-known soul cover for Trojan’s reggae market. It became one of the better-known items from his early-1970s output. The song remains a familiar Horace Andy cover and has been kept in circulation through later reissues and compilation appearances. It reinforces Andy’s reputation as one of Jamaica’s most distinctive interpreters of pop and soul material.
