The Dog

Recorded in Kingston, Jamaica, as part of Harry J Johnson’s 1969 session work with his house band, the Harry J All Stars. It was issued on the original Liquidator album era release. The track appeared on the group’s 1969 Liquidator LP, one of the key early-reggae instrumentals associated with producer Harry J Johnson’s catalog. It sat alongside the band’s better-known cuts and helped define the album’s tough, skanking sound. The track has remained in circulation through later anthology and digital reissues of Liquidator material. It continues to be presented as part of the Harry J All Stars’ core early-reggae repertoire.
