Blowing In The Wind

Blowing In The Wind

Max Romeo · 1969
Recording

Recorded in Jamaica and produced by Edward "Bunny" Lee, who is also credited as Edward O'Sullivan Lee on some releases. It was issued as a Max Romeo single in 1969 as a reggae cover of Bob Dylan's "Blowin' in the Wind." The track placed Romeo in the run of late-1960s Jamaican singles that adapted well-known international songs into reggae. It gave his version of Dylan's protest anthem a local cut and became part of the catalog that introduced him beyond Jamaica. The recording has stayed in circulation through later reggae compilations and digital reissues. It remains one of the better-known early Max Romeo covers, alongside his original singles.
