Politician

The track was written by Jack Bruce and Pete Brown and recorded for Wheels of Fire with Eric Clapton, Jack Bruce and Ginger Baker. The studio recordings for the album were made in 1967 and 1968 at Atlantic Studios in New York and IBC Studios in London with Felix Pappalardi producing. Released on Wheels of Fire in 1968, it became one of Cream heavier studio tracks and a showcase for the group blues rock power trio sound. Though not a charting single, it was a major album cut on a record that reached number 1 in the United States. It remains a notable Cream deep cut and a regular example of Jack Bruce and Pete Brown politically edged songwriting. The song has been covered by later blues rock and hard rock artists, including Gov t Mule.
