There's A Ghost In My House
R. Dean Taylor · 1967Recording
R. Dean Taylor recorded the track in 1966 at Motown with Brian Holland and Lamont Dozier producing. It was issued as a single on Motown’s V.I.P. subsidiary in April 1967. The song failed to break in the United States on its original release, but it became a Northern soul favorite in Britain. When Tamla Motown reissued it in 1974, it reached No. 3 on the UK Singles Chart. It remains one of Taylor’s best-known Motown-era recordings and a Northern soul standard. Later versions by the Fall, Yachts, and B.E.F. featuring Paul Jones kept it in circulation.
