Little Milton · 1967
Recording

Recorded in Chicago during Little Milton’s late-1960s Checker period, when Chess was steering his sound toward polished blues-soul. Billy Davis is credited as producer, and the song was issued as a Checker single backed with “The Cost of Living.” The single was one of Little Milton’s mid-charting Checker releases and reached No. 45 on the U.S. R&B chart. Cash Box also reviewed it favorably on release, noting its commercial prospects. “More and More” remained part of Little Milton’s catalog and was later covered by Blood, Sweat & Tears. Its continued presence on reissues and cover recordings kept it visible beyond its original 1967 run.
