I Got to Find Me Somebody

Recorded for 20th Century-Fox in 1967 and issued as a single with "What Now My Love" on the B-side. The release credits Jackie Mills as producer and James Anthony Carmichael as arranger. The track became a Northern Soul favorite and one of the best-known records associated with the Vel-Vets. It was later singled out in Northern Soul lists and retrospectives as a standout cut from the 1967 20th Century-Fox run. "I Got to Find Me Somebody" remained a durable Northern Soul staple, resurfacing on later compilations and reissues, including Wigan Casino-era collections. Its reputation has endured as one of the scene's signature floor-fillers.
