Can't You Hear Me Knocking

Can't You Hear Me Knocking

The Rolling Stones · 1971
Recording

The track was recorded during the Sticky Fingers sessions with Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Mick Taylor, Bill Wyman and Charlie Watts. The main album sessions took place at Olympic Studios and Stargroves, with Jimmy Miller producing. Released on Sticky Fingers in 1971, it became one of the album key extended performances and showcased Mick Taylor lead guitar within the band. Though not issued as a single, it helped define the album loose, blues based rock sound. It remains one of the Rolling Stones most celebrated album tracks and a frequent highlight in discussions of Mick Taylor era recordings. The song gained wider later visibility through use in films including Casino and Blow.
