Eight Days A Week (Remastered 2009)
The Beatles · 1964Recording
Recorded at EMI Studios in London on 6 and 18 October 1964, with George Martin producing. The session featured The Beatles’ standard studio lineup and the song’s distinctive fade-in opening. Released on Beatles for Sale in the UK, the track showed the band pushing beyond their earlier pop formula while still aiming at the singles market. In the US, the single became a major hit and reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100. The song’s title became one of The Beatles’ most recognizable hooks, and its opening fade-in has been repeatedly cited as an early pop-production device. It remains one of the band’s best-known mid-period recordings and a staple of retrospectives, covers, and compilations.
