Hazey Jane II

Hazey Jane II

Nick Drake · 1971
Recording

The track was recorded during the Bryter Layter sessions at Sound Techniques in London with Nick Drake, producer Joe Boyd and arranger Robert Kirby. The recording featured members of Fairport Convention among the supporting musicians, including Richard Thompson and Dave Pegg. Released on Bryter Layter in 1971, it formed part of Drake more elaborately arranged second album. The album received limited commercial attention at release but later became central to the critical reassessment of Drake work. It remains one of the best known songs from Bryter Layter and a key example of Drake collaboration with Robert Kirby. The track has endured through later reissues, compilations and renewed interest in Drake catalogue.
