Let's Spend the Night Together (2003 Remaster)

David Bowie · 1973
Recording

The track was recorded for Aladdin Sane during sessions with David Bowie, the Spiders from Mars and pianist Mike Garson. Bowie reshaped the Rolling Stones song with producer Ken Scott as part of the album recorded between the American Ziggy Stardust tours. Released on Aladdin Sane in 1973, it showed Bowie folding a well known Rolling Stones song into the theatrical hard rock setting of his Ziggy era. The performance stood out as the album only cover version and linked Bowie directly to 1960s British rock lineage. It remains one of Bowie better known early 1970s cover recordings. The track continues to appear in reissues of Aladdin Sane, including the 2003 remaster.
