Tiny Dancer

Elton John · 1971
Recording

The track was recorded for Madman Across the Water with Elton John, Dee Murray, Nigel Olsson and a large string arrangement by Paul Buckmaster. The album sessions took place at Trident Studios in London with Gus Dudgeon producing. Released in 1971 on Madman Across the Water and as a 1972 single in the United States, it became one of Elton John key early ballads. The single reached number 41 on the Billboard Hot 100 during its original release. It later became one of Elton John most beloved songs, helped by prominent use in Almost Famous and long term radio play. The recording remains closely associated with the early John Taupin partnership and Paul Buckmaster orchestral arrangements.
