Rock Rock Y’all
A Tribe Called Quest · 1998Recording
Recorded during The Love Movement sessions in 1997–1998, with production by The Ummah and engineering/mixing by David Kennedy and The Ummah. It features guest appearances by Punchline, Wordsworth, Jane Doe, and Mos Def. The track served as one of the album’s harder-edged ensemble cuts and helped balance The Love Movement’s smoother, love-themed material. It highlighted A Tribe Called Quest’s late-period chemistry with New York underground guests. It remains a well-regarded deep cut from A Tribe Called Quest’s final studio album. The song is regularly cited in discussions of the group’s last era and their collaborations with the Native Tongues circle.
