Here Come

Recorded and mixed at Marley's House of Hits in New York during the 1992 and 1993 sessions for Lords of the Underground's debut album Here Come the Lords. Mr. Funke and DoItAll performed the vocals, DJ Lord Jazz handled the cuts, K-Def produced the track, and Marley Marl mixed it. Released by Pendulum and Elektra in 1993 as a single from Here Come the Lords, it followed the group's breakthrough run with Funky Child and Chief Rocka. The track reached the Billboard Hot 100 and reinforced the group's energetic Newark identity within early-1990s East Coast rap. It remains a central title track from Lords of the Underground's debut album and a compact showcase for K-Def's production and DJ Lord Jazz's cuts. Its chant-like hook and group introduction have kept it visible in retrospectives on the group's peak period.
