Slaughtahouse (Murder Mix)

Slaughtahouse (Murder Mix)

Masta Ace · 2006
Recording

Recorded during the SlaughtaHouse sessions at Firehouse Studios in Brooklyn, with Masta Ace using the exaggerated MC Negro and Ignant MC voices to parody violent rap imagery. The Murder Mix was remixed by Uneek and issued on the 1993 Slaughtahouse single. Released by Delicious Vinyl in 1993, the mix extended the album's satirical attack on murder-rap clichés into a darker single configuration. Its remix placement alongside Born to Roll helped bridge the SlaughtaHouse era with Masta Ace Incorporated's wider mid-1990s visibility. The track remains a notable remix from Masta Ace Incorporated's concept-heavy debut period. Its horror references, Bomb Squad-like sample density, and cartoon-violent framing keep it central to the album's critique of rap sensationalism.
