Swalla

During 2016, Jason Derulo recorded the song at his home in Los Angeles before announcing it as his new single on January 2, 2017. The featured vocals were supplied by Nicki Minaj and Ty Dolla $ign, with production by Ricky Reed. Released on February 24, 2017, as Derulo’s lead single for the planned 777 era, it quickly became a major international single. It reached the top 30 on the US Billboard Hot 100 and the top 10 in the UK, reinforcing Derulo’s run of global pop hits. The song became one of Derulo’s signature catalog tracks and later passed one billion streams. It remained prominent enough to be included on Nu King in 2024 and in Derulo’s live set years after release.
