Super Rappin No. 5
Tim ‘Love’ Lee · 2000Recording
It was issued from Tim Love Lee’s Peace Feast/Tummy Touch orbit as a short cut-up track, built around the break from The Whole Darn Family’s “Seven Minutes of Funk.” It circulated in DJ sets by 1999 and appeared on Peace Feast’s 2000 compilation lineage. The track captured Tim Love Lee’s sample-heavy, crate-digging side project aesthetic at the turn of the millennium. Its brief, punchy form made it a useful DJ tool and a recognizable marker of the Peace Feast catalog. It remained a cult selector’s track, resurfacing on later compilations and DJ mixes well after its original release. Its continued circulation reflects Tim Love Lee’s lasting influence on leftfield funk, breaks, and sample-based dance records.
