Letter to the Better (remix)

Recorded during the Take a Look Around sessions at House of Hits in Chestnut Ridge, New York and Libra Digital Sound in Long Island City between 1989 and 1990. The remix was produced by Marley Marl with Masta Ace credited as co-producer. The track appeared on Masta Ace’s 1990 debut album Take a Look Around, following the 1989 single pairing of “Together” and “Letter to the Better.” It anchored the album’s early Cold Chillin’ era and showed Marley Marl’s production shaping Ace’s solo identity. The remix remains a key part of Masta Ace’s early catalog and is regularly included in track listings and retrospectives of Take a Look Around. It continues to represent the first phase of his solo career on Cold Chillin’.
