Excuse Me Miss Again
JAY‐Z · 2003Recorded in March 2003 at Baseline Recording Studios in New York City and Master Sound Studios in Virginia Beach with The Neptunes. Chad Hugo later described the session as a high-energy follow-up to "Excuse Me Miss." The track was released as the sequel to "Excuse Me Miss," first appearing as the lead bonus track on Blueprint 2.1 before also serving as a single tied to the Bad Boys II soundtrack. It was noted as a darker reworking of the original and reached No. 37 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart even though it missed the Billboard Hot 100. "Excuse Me Miss Again" remains the best-known sequel to one of Jay-Z’s biggest early-2000s singles, and it has continued to circulate through the Bad Boys II soundtrack and later Jay-Z song rankings. Its Neptunes production and hard-edged update to the original made it a durable album-cut favorite.
