Recording

Recorded as Double XX Posse’s debut single, released in 1990 on Mel-o Records as the "Executive Class / On A Mission" 12-inch. It was produced by Melo-Odoms and Ray Howell. The track introduced the Jersey City group with a brash, sample-driven underground single that drew on Pleasure, Bobby Byrd, and Graham Central Station. It circulated as a hip-hop classic on the 12-inch circuit and in mixshow culture. The song remained in circulation after release and was later sampled by The Wiseguys on "The Executives". It also fed back into Double XX Posse’s own catalog through "Addicted to the Game."
