Kid ’n Play · 1988
Recording

Recorded during the 1987–88 sessions for the debut album 2 Hype at Bayside Sound Recording Studio in New York City. The track was produced by Hurby Luv Bug and The Invincibles for Select Records. The single helped define Kid 'n Play’s early image and became one of the standout tracks from 2 Hype. Its video introduced the duo’s signature kick-step dance, and the song reached the UK Singles Chart in 1988. The track remained a touchstone for the duo’s dance-oriented style and was widely remembered through its video and club circulation. Its break and hook were later sampled and referenced by multiple artists, keeping it active in hip-hop sample culture.
