Tony! Toni! Toné! — brothers Dwayne Wiggins and Timothy Christian Riley, along with cousin Raphael Saadiq — recorded 'Feels Good' for their second album The Revival, produced by Denzil Foster and Thomas McElroy at their Oakland-based production company, Club Nouveau. Released in 1990, 'Feels Good' reached number 5 on the Billboard Hot 100 and became one of the defining New Jack Swing-era R&B hits, demonstrating the trio's ability to blend live instrumentation with contemporary production at a moment when the genre dominated radio. The track cemented Tony! Toni! Toné!'s reputation as one of the leading acts bridging authentic soul musicianship with the commercially dominant New Jack Swing sound, and it remains among the most recognisable R&B singles of the early 1990s.
