Born to Roll
Masta Ace Incorporated · 1993Recorded at Firehouse Studios in Brooklyn during the SlaughtaHouse and Sittin' on Chrome-era sessions. Masta Ace performed and produced the remix under his Ase One credit, recasting Jeep Ass Niguh as a bass-heavy car-system record. Released by Delicious Vinyl in 1994, it became Masta Ace Incorporated's biggest crossover single. The track reached number 23 on the Billboard Hot 100 and extended the SlaughtaHouse concept into the lowrider and booming-system imagery that shaped Sittin' on Chrome. It remains Masta Ace Incorporated's best-known single and a durable example of an East Coast artist deliberately reworking a record through West Coast car-culture sonics. Its success made the remix more visible than Jeep Ass Niguh and kept it central to Masta Ace retrospectives.
