Put Your Handz Up

The Whooliganz recorded the song in 1993 as their debut single for Tommy Boy, and Gavin described it as being introduced through the Soul Assassins Tour alongside House of Pain, Funkdoobiest, and Cypress Hill. Billboard credited DJ Lethal as producer, and the release also appears as a studio recording on a 1993 Tommy Boy single. The track served as the Whooliganz’s first single and their introduction to the rap world during the Soul Assassins run. Contemporary coverage treated it as a new-artist release from Tommy Boy rather than a breakout hit. The song is remembered as the Whooliganz’s signature early release and an early recorded credit from the duo’s pre-fame era. Its later circulation as a cult 1990s hip-hop single has kept it visible among fans of The Alchemist’s early work.
