Drop It Like It's Hot Pt. 1 (original version)

Recorded in 2004 at The Record Plant in Hollywood, Los Angeles, California, with Snoop Dogg and Pharrell Williams. The single’s credits also list Andrew Coleman as recording engineer and Phil Tan as mixer. The track was the lead single from R&G (Rhythm & Gangsta): The Masterpiece and became Snoop Dogg’s first U.S. number one on the Billboard Hot 100. It also marked a major Neptunes crossover moment and was widely noted as one of 2004’s defining pop-rap singles. It remains one of Snoop Dogg’s signature songs and a lasting pop-culture touchstone, remembered for its minimalist production and meme-ready hand gesture. The song’s chart success and enduring replay value kept it central to both artists’ mainstream identities.
