Runnin'

Recorded in 1995 for Labcabincalifornia, the track featured The Pharcyde with production by Jay Dee during his early Delicious Vinyl period. The single was released by Delicious Vinyl and Capitol in October 1995. Runnin became the lead single from Labcabincalifornia and reached number 55 on the Billboard Hot 100, number 35 on the US R and B chart and number 36 on the UK Official Singles Chart. It gave the group one of its most successful singles after Bizarre Ride II the Pharcyde. The track remains one of The Pharcydes best known records and a key early example of Jay Dees production style reaching a national audience. Its Stan Getz and Luiz Bonfa sample and schoolyard themed video kept it central to the groups 1990s catalogue.
