Ante Up (Remix)
M.O.P. · 2001The remix was issued in 2001 and built on M.O.P.’s original "Ante Up" record, which was produced by DR Period and recorded at D&D Studios in New York City; the remix version also circulated as a Loud/Columbia release. It extended one of M.O.P.’s breakout records into a stronger crossover single, reaching the UK Singles Chart Top 10 and spending 10 weeks on the chart. The record also anchored the group’s mainstream visibility in the early 2000s. The track remained a defining M.O.P. anthem through repeated film, television, and game placements, and the original song’s sample lineage and later uses helped keep it circulating well beyond release. It also inspired later sampling, including Javine’s "Real Things" and John Cena’s "The Time Is Now."
