Intergalactic

Recorded during the Hello Nasty sessions at G-Son in Los Angeles and RPM Studios in New York, with Mario Caldato Jr. engineering and producing alongside the Beastie Boys. The single release was tied to the album-era work that the group was finishing in 1998. It became the Beastie Boys’ biggest U.S. pop crossover, reaching No. 28 on the Billboard Hot 100 and No. 5 in the UK, and it won the 1999 Grammy for Best Rap Performance by a Duo or Group. It also stood out as the launch single for Hello Nasty and one of the album’s defining statements. The track remains one of the group’s signature songs and is still remembered as their biggest UK hit and a major late-career anthem. Its video, award wins, and persistent popularity have kept it central to the Beastie Boys’ legacy.
