Luther Vandross · 1998
Recording

Recorded for Luther Vandross’s I Know sessions in 1997–1998 at Clinton Recording Studios, the Hit Factory, Sound Barriers, Sony Scoring Stage, and the Record Plant. It was written by Luther Vandross, Fonzi Thornton, Louie Vega, and Kenny "Dope" Gonzalez, and produced by Vega and Gonzalez. The track stood out on I Know as Vandross’s late-1990s dip into house-leaning club music, and contemporaneous coverage treated it as one of the album’s dance-floor cuts. A UK promo 12-inch circulated in 1998, underlining its club orientation. It remains a fan-favorite deep cut and a touchstone for Vandross’s work with Masters at Work, with later commentary repeatedly citing it as a standout house record. The song has also continued to circulate through club compilations and remix culture.
