Recording

The Return recorded New Day for the Lights Out / New Day 12-inch on 4th Floor Records. The digital edition credits The Return as producer, Ben Grassini as engineer, and Choco as composer and lyricist. Released in 1999 on 4th Floor Records, the track appeared on a two-track single pairing the tougher Lights Out with the vocal-led New Day. It was later restored to circulation through 4th Floor and 4 To The Floor digital reissues. The track remains a cult 4th Floor Records catalogue entry and is preserved on later compilations dedicated to classic underground house. Its continued digital availability kept The Return's late-1990s New York-linked house sound accessible beyond the original vinyl pressing.
